The 2009 smart fortwo is available in three models--Pure and Passion
hatchbacks, and Passion Cabriolet. Introduced in the U.S. in 2008, the
Pure features such standard equipment as five-speed "automated"
transmission with manual or auto modes, and a leather-wrapped steering
wheel. The Pure is "radio ready" with air conditioning, power windows,
and alloy wheels offered as options. The Passion upgrades the Pure with
a panorama roof, alloy wheels, climate control, power windows, and
heated power mirrors. Smart has partnered with BRABUS, for
modifications that feature more sporty design elements like larger
wheels, enhanced exhaust and suspension tuning, as well as the use of
upgraded materials such as leather, brushed aluminum, and stainless
accents. The smart fortwo Passion was introduced in 2008; no
information is currently available on upcoming changes.
